Aeryn placed her thinly framed hands on the professor's stomach, jumping a bit in suprise as something kicked back at her. Distracted from the hard hearted topic that Servilius brought up, the young girl placed her hand back cautiously.
"It likes me?" she said, laughing lightly, then her eyes darkening in embarrasment. "Oh, I didn't mean to call the baby an it, it's just that, well, I don't know the gender. Do you know what the baby is going to be? What about names? Do you have any ideas for names?"
Aeryn sighed dreamily. "Well, when I grow up, I hope to find a dazzling prince and to be proposed to in a beautiful castle, just like storybooks, you know? Of course, they're Muggle story books that were me' dad's, and he'd read them, and that's when everyone lives happily ever after. Are you getting your happily ever after, Professor Smith?"
The young girl opened her mouth as if to say more, but she looked away awkwardly, embarrased.
Servilius probably thinks I'm a freak, and that's the last thing I need on my first day.
The awkward silence was disturbed by the obnoxiously loud purring of Burnsy, and the dog sized gray cat rubbed against Professor Smith's leg, obviously annoyed by the river of attention flowing from him to her.
"Burnsy." Aeryn hissed, grabbing at her cat, which made him give an obnoxious yowl. She propped him up on her lap.
Servilius began to speak now, and Aeryn diverted her attention to him.
"Oh, my mum told me that the feast is one of the greatest things she ever saw." she commented. "My dad was a Hufflepuff and my mum was a Ravenclaw. I wonder where that'll lead me?"[/size]
